Where it can be seen

A lunar eclipse looks the same from everywhere the Moon is above the horizon. At greatest eclipse the Moon is overhead at 22.6°S, 81.8°E, so the half of the Earth centred there sees the middle of the eclipse; near the edge of that half the Moon rises or sets while it is under way.
