Data protection requests
Athrwise Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through Moonsighting.live. Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:

How to make a request
Email support@moonsighting.live with the subject line Data Protection — [Access / Erasure / …] and include:
- The email address associated with your account
- Which right you are exercising
- Any detail that helps us locate the data (for example, the date of a sighting report)
We may ask you to verify your identity before we act. This protects you — it stops someone else obtaining or deleting your data.
What happens next
- We acknowledge your request and respond within one month of receiving it
- The service is free of charge
- For complex or repeated requests we may extend the deadline by up to two further months, and we will tell you within the first month if we do
- If we cannot act on your request, we will explain why and tell you how to complain
Requesting erasure
To have your account and personal data erased, email support@moonsighting.live with the subject Data Protection — Erasure. We will confirm and action the request within one month. Published sighting reports are retained in anonymised form — the observational record stays in the community archive, but it is no longer linked to you.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first — we would rather put it right.
You also have the right to complain directly to the UK supervisory authority:
